At the heart of Wingate's ethos is a respect for children and their childhood.
Wingate Community Nursery School is a Durham County Council Maintained Nursery School, offering 15 hour and 30 hour places, depending on eligibility. We operate across 3 school sites, two of which are outdoors all year round, giving young children the very best start in life, through endless possibilities.
Our creative, skilful educators are knowledgeable about how children learn and excited about sharing the journey of discovery together with each child and her family through a passionate commitment to the Nursery and its values.
Ofsted have judged our school as OUTSTANDING for over 26 years; In 1996, 1999, 2003, 2005, 2008, 2010, 2013, 2017 and most recently, January 2022. We are extremely proud to have upheld this outstanding rating for so long and look forward to sharing our approach to learning with Ofsted every three years.
